About Kristin

Kristin prescribes exercise programs from an intelligent place of understanding anatomy, kinesiology and exercise physiology from the inside and out. She brings years of experience listening to the client’s health and fitness goals and addressing an individual’s current health and fitness levels. She supports everyone with care and patience as exercise is “never one size fits all.” Clients stay injury-free and become healthier and stronger.

Through a combination of Pilates, corrective exercise, and functional training clients improve their fitness levels and see results. Whether your post-op, getting ready for a wedding, or just wanting to feel and look better Kristin takes the time to build personalized programs. Kristin’s work comes from an organic and intuitive place, as she stays up to date on current exercise physiology research and advances in health and wellness modalities. Years of experience in; dance, movement therapies, Pilates and clinical exercise physiology make her a unique fitness expert with an ability to work especially with special populations.

An authentic classical Pilates Instructor and modern-day personal trainer, Kristin’s love and devotion show up in her practice and throughout her instruction, you will leave your sessions feeling transformed and deeply aligned. Originally from Scranton, Pa, started exercising as a teenager taking fun, high-energy aerobics classes at Vince Brust Studios to help lose weight to slim down for ballet. She struggled with an eating disorder and body issues as a pre-teen while studying at a competitive ballet school. Kristin was so enthusiastic about exercise that her high school gym teacher asked her to teach the Senior gym class a few times! From that moment, she fell in love with not only getting people excited about exercise, but also the need to lead others how to get fit and love it!

Kristin earned her bachelor’s degree in Dance Education starting at Temple University and finishing at The University of the Arts in 1994. She then went on to complete her Master’s degree In Kinesiology concentration in Exercise Physiology from Temple University in 2003. Shortly after finishing college, she pursued a professional dance and teaching career, and it was there that she discovered group exercise and personal training. Soon after, she became the Fitness Coordinator for Pepper, Hamilton and Sheetz LLP. She completed her American College of Sports Medicine and Aerobics and Fitness Association of American certifications. Leading her to working at numerous corporate fitness centers including; Sanofi Winthrop, Unisys, The Union League, UGI and SAP America conducting fitness assessments and teaching group exercise classes. She became the Fitness Manager for New York Sports Clubs opening up their new Philadelphia Sports Clubs.

Discovering Pilates at the Pennsylvania Ballet she studied under the direction of Master teacher June Hines. While in graduate school she completed a two year long internship at the department of Heart Failure and Heart Transplant at Temple University Hospital. After graduate school she moved to Boca Raton, Florida where she worked as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale and JFK Medical Center in Atlantis. She taught fitness at the Deerfield County Club, Addison Reserve and the Boca Raton Country Club. While in Florida she instructed Fitness for Life and Aerobic Exercise courses at Broward College. Getting homesick and missing the beat of the city in Philadelphia she moved back to Philly working as an Exercise Physiologist at Frankford-Torresdale Hospital in the inpatient and outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation department.

Thereafter was appointed the position of Fitness Manager at the Veteran’s Affairs in Philadelphia. For several weekends she traveled to complete Yoga Fit, National Academy of Sports Medicine Personal Training and Towns Sport International/NYSC certifications in NYC. While teaching part time again at Philadelphia Sports Clubs she was approached to become a Master Trainer for the new Radnor PSC. Soon then completing her 200 hour Registered Yoga Instructor certification from the Yoga Life Institute in Devon with distinguished Dr. Robert Buttera. She began to commute for many years to Jersey City studying with world renowned Pilates Instructor Brett Howard completing 600 hours plus of training. In 2009 Kristin was hired to manage the brand new Salvation Army Kroc Community Center in Philadelphia. As Fitness Manager she hired over seventy-five employees, started a college internship program and built community diabetes and wellness programs.

It was then about five years later she decided to resign managing gyms and devote her career to training and teaching exclusively developing her brand Kristin G Fitness. Kristin is an instructor for The WITS Personal Training certification program teaching at the Community College of Philadelphia. For over twenty -years she has been a visiting instructor for Fit Bodies International teaching at numerous resorts in Jamaica including; Superclubs, Couples, Jewell and Secrets. Kristin’s deep love for Jamaica inspired her to give back and volunteer in Kingston teaching at a children’s  dance and gymnastic camp Summer 2019. 

Kristin continues to study with esteemed Sports Medicine and Performance Coach Peter Twist from Canada along with working at several Idea Fitness Conferences in California. She attends yearly continuing educational courses from top physicians, physical therapists and exercise clinicians in; exercise physiology, behavior modification,, nutrition, rehabilitation, Pilates and Yoga. Kristin studies Vinyasa Yoga with Dhyana Yoga, Diana and John Vitarelli international instructor Joan Hyman. Kristin has completed Classical Pilates training with Jennifer Cybulski, Sean Gallagher, Mejo Wiggins, Junghee Won, Kathy Corey and the Late Bob Liekens. 

Training with Kristin is an experience; her instruction is intelligent and balanced, you feel more centered and together after each session. 

Whenever she is not working she enjoys helping rescue cats, walking in Philly, shopping at Trader Joe’s or Sprouts and spending time with family along with her beloved cat, Dinker.
